!! Contestant news !!
Dear Parents and Contestants,
We, the North Alabama Youth Rodeo Association, regretfully announce the dismemberment of this association. There have been many great memories generated throughout the past 4 years. New friendships were formed, some found talents they didn't know they had, and most importantly, people were reached out to for the Glory of Jesus Christ. The biggest blessing being the youth standing in front of their peers and giving their personal testimonies of what the Lord has done in their lives. That was what we were searching for and so blessed that God sent this association great people like yourselves.
We changed the fundraisers this year, hoping to draw more members. This seemed to be the biggest struggle for some. However, it does cost a good bit of money to put on the rodeo's. The decision to stop has nothing to do with any of you folks, but the lack of membership. The cost just to put on the rodeo's for 2016 season would be approximately $18,000 ($3,000 per rodeo), which is still a small fraction of what AHSA is. AHSA pays $10,000 per rodeo. We have earnestly tried to manage costs as best as possible in the past years. With the memberships we currently have and adding the $300.00 fund raiser it would only be enough to put on the 6 rodeo's, not finals. We do this for the youth, but we still have to look at the business side of it. We are a non profit association, however, we do have to have funds to operate. We still have to have money for event insurance, arena rental and set up, judges, announcers and that's just a few. We have crunched numbers trying to come up with a method that would take care of it, but we just cannot find a way.
The NAYRA does reserve the right to the name for the next 5 years, meaning nobody else can use the name or logos for their own gain.
Again, we thank you so much for the kindness and support you have shown over the years. Watching your kids grow in a sport they love has been a true blessing for us. We wish all of you the best of luck – SIT TALL IN THE SADDLE AND KEEP YOUR HEAD HELD HIGH!!!!
